Patrice Talon was born on May 1, 1958, from a railway father born in Ouidah and a mother of the Guédégbé family from Abomey. He is now married to Claudine Gbénagnon, a native of Porto-Novo, with whom he had 2 children.
After a BAC C obtained in Dakar, he returned to the Faculty of Sciences of the University of that city. In 2nd year of math-physics, he succeeds in Air Afrique airline pilot competition and is sent to France for the medical examination and the aptitude tests required for this training. At the Dugny airbase, he was not selected for the rest of the process because of psychomotor incapacity for this job. Having been unable to integrate the training of airline pilots from the National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC), the young Patrice Talon is forced to abandon his dream and settles in Paris. By happy circumstantial assistance, he entered in 1983 in the trading business of packaging and agricultural inputs.
